If you want to enjoy some delicious chicken wings without completely blowing your diet out of the water, the secret is to bake them, rather than frying them. Here's a look at two delicious baked chicken wing recipes to try this weekend.

Baked Buffalo Wings

This take on classic buffalo wings comes out crispy and delicious without all of the fat from frying. If you like your wings extra spicy, add an extra 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper to the sauce. If you like them mild, leave out the cayenne completely.

Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds chicken wings with the skin on
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 cup of your favorite hot sauce
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Drizzle the chicken wings in the olive oil, and then sprinkle them with paprika, salt and pepper. Spread them out evenly on a wire rack, and place it on top of a baking sheet. Bake for 25 - 30 minutes at 400 degrees F. Turn the wings over once halfway through cooking.

While the wings are cooking, combine the hot sauce, vinegar and cayenne pepper in a heatproof bowl. Immediately after removing the wings from the oven, toss them in this sauce. Arrange them on a plate or serving dish, and enjoy. These wings are delicious dipped in blue cheese dressing!

Baked Italian Chicken Wings

These wings are a great choice for those who simply don't like spicy foods. Flavored with garlic, Parmesan and Italian dressing, they're so flavorful you'd never guess they're baked.

  • 2 pounds chicken wings with the skin on
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 cup Italian dressing
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese, grated

Drizzle the wings with the olive oil, and then sprinkle them with the salt, garlic powder and oregano. Spread them out on a wire rack, and place the rack on a baking sheet. Bake at 400 degrees F for 25 - 30 minutes, turning the wings over once about halfway through cooking.
